Trish Jubb
Artist and tutor
Life Drawing a speciality
I am a local tutor with many years experience in Life Drawing and other art forms.
Attending a class with me:
It is hard to know what to expect when you attend a new class. Although in other situations I can seem quiet, my classes bring out a different side to my personality and you will see my enthusiasm and excitement about the subject as well as my understanding of differing needs and abilities. My aim is to ensure people enjoy the experience of drawing, feel at home and benefit from the group whether they are experienced or nervous newcomers.
Activities are varied so there is always something new going on. There is no right or wrong - I emphasise individuality and work to peoples' abilities, with activities which help people to see things from new perspectives and enhance confidence rather than destroy it. I try and keep things light with an injection of humour. More experienced artists occasionally opt to work from the model without my input.
I have done my best to create the sort of classes I would like to attend, so it is "come when you can" for those who are unable to commit to a term, work unhindered for those who prefer not to join in with activities and an all day session for those who want more time.

My background:
I have always loved making art about the human figure and my excitement at starting Life Drawing at college knew no bounds!
This obsession (it can't be called anything else) along with discovering my ability to support and facilitate other people, especially encouraging the less confident, has led me to the wish to spread this enthusiasm as far as possible, often through teaching Life Drawing classes but extending through supporting people in other ways of making art.
I have a background in Participatory Arts, working with people across all ages and abilities, and I believe there is an artist in everybody; we just need to find the key. My keen interest in the Autistic Spectrum has fuelled my creativity.
Though in early years my own work tended to lean almost exclusively towards figurative drawings and latterly into sculptures of the human form, I have also moved into more abstract work, creating fantasy landscapes, and into video work seeking to bring the differences in peoples’ perceptions to acceptance and understanding.
